General information on data processing
1) Personal data
Personal data means individual details about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as a name, address, telephone number and email address, as well as an IP address that can be linked to an internet connection. Information that cannot be directly associated with a person’s identity, such as favourite websites or the number of visitors to a page, is not personal data.
2) Scope of personal data processing
We generally collect and use our users’ personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. As a rule, our users’ personal data is collected and used only with their consent. An exception applies where obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and processing is permitted by law.
3) Legal basis for processing personal data
Where we obtain the data subject’s consent to process personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides the legal basis for that processing. Where processing personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR provides the legal basis. This also applies to processing necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract. Where processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, and the data subject’s interests, fundamental rights and freedoms do not override that interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR provides the legal basis for processing.
4) Data deletion and retention periods
The data subject’s personal data is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Data may also be retained where this is required by European or national legislation in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which we are subject. Data is also blocked or deleted when a retention period prescribed by those provisions expires, unless further retention is necessary to conclude or perform a contract.
Provision of the website and creation of log files
Each time our website is accessed, an automated system records data and information for us. Our website is operated using the Onepage content management system (CMS). When our website is used, personal data is processed exclusively within the framework of applicable data protection legislation.
When our website, created using the Onepage CMS, is accessed, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information, known as server log files, includes:
- IP address in anonymised form
- Date and time of access
- Name and URL of the file requested
- Website from which access originates (referrer URL)
- Browser used and, where applicable, your computer’s operating system
- Name of your internet access provider
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for temporarily storing data and log files is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR
Purpose of data processing
The system must temporarily store the IP address to deliver the website to the user’s computer. The user’s IP address must therefore remain stored for the duration of the session.
Retention period
Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. For data collected to provide the website, this is the case when the relevant session ends. Data stored in log files is deleted after no more than seven days.
